To the Cry of the Sand'ling wins Scottish Award!

Well Almost! Tom's novel was awarded third place in the Barbara Hammond Trophy Competition from the Scottish Association of Writers in 2021. The adjudication panels commented: 

‘An ambitious structure across three-time frames, this book immerses the reader in a particular era of Scottish history when there were strong bonds with Europe. The author portrays an evocative sense of place with excellent characterisation of the different classes, nationalities and type of people. In short, a very memorable book.’
