Nineteen-year-old Julia and her friend Matt have the length of a golden 70’s summer to unravel the mysteries of her surprise inheritance.

 

Julia’s distant relative, Alice, the only surviving member of a Jewish family who were wiped out by the Nazis during the second world war, grew up in a house in Perthshire during the early 1900’s. When Julia and geeky Matt opened the door in 1974, they find the house full of furniture, antiques, old clothes, locked doors, and secrets – as if the previous occupants had never left.

 

At first, they have fun, inviting friends, dressing up, holding sexy parties and emptying the wine cellar, but when they meet an ethereal young girl who appears at the bottom the garden, and Julia discovers that the last occupant of the house an SS officer who was released from the nearby POW camp.

 

It doesn’t make sense: Julia’s mother’s family had been slaughtered. Julia, who adores her house, is beginning to feel uncomfortable.
